A deadlock is a mechanical device fitted to the vehicle door. It operates by throwing a bolt into the receiver that is fitted in the opposing body section of the vehicle when operated by a key. Deadlocks have been used with great success in the industry for years now, and still tend to be the preferred option used by many people. Operated by a high security key the deadlock operates independently from the OEM locking system.
